I am a writer who finds interesting topics to write about in the simplest things in life. From a very young age, I have been reciting and memorizing poetry, which in turn, peaked my interests in writing poetry of my own. Throughout my life, I have had many strange encounters with poetry. Some poems have made my very happy, some have made me weep, and some leave me in shock or amazement. In recent years, I have come to see poetry as a very powerful form of art and expression.

I am a strong believer of the powers of poetry. To me, it has the ability to touch the heart and soul of anyone who comes in contact with it, no matter if they are the writer or reader. I have made it my mission for this project to show that poetry is by no means just a bunch of oddly clumped words on a paper, but the manifestation of the soul of another person being put into words. For this project, I have reached out to as many poets as I possibly could in the East Side Union High School District of San Jose as well as other surrounding high schools in the area who might be interested in sharing their poetry for my cause. All of the collected poetry will be compiled into an anthology to be shared on Amazon for all readers to enjoy the works of high school students such as myself, as well as teachers and faculty across the district.

In my free time, I love writing poetry, writing news stories, taking pictures, playing the piano, book editing, practicing martial arts, and spending time with my family. On top of my personal hobbies, I try my best to take an active role in both my school and city communities. I believe that a writers must be open to different things in order to find new perspectives in not only writing, but how they perceive life, which is why I expand on my hobbies and interests whenever I can.
